Linda Krause, Quilter

An artist exploring the boundaries of avant-garde quilting, Linda incorporates silk, metallic and translucent cloths, fabrics of ethnic origin and design and traditional swatches of cotton. Intricately machined and hand embellished, her work also reads like a patchwork quilt of techniques and incorporates beading, brocade, hand painting, and applique. Her sparkling and spontaneous designs are inspired by birds, places, events and even by the fabrics themselves. Notably, reverse sides are often strikingly different and equally significant.
